Nick Venturella weaves tales of love, life, and self-awareness through his gift of storytelling

Throughout the ages, storytelling has been used to teach about the past, make sense of the world, and of course for entertainment purposes.  A storyteller was often looked very highly upon in the community as a source of history and wisdom.  They had the ability to make their listeners feel certain ways and could produce both tears and laughter through their tales.

Local acoustic musician, Nick Venturella offers Madison the wonderful gift of storytelling in every song, in every album.  Like the storytellers of days past, Nick uses his stories to make sense of the world.  His lyrics come from real experiences and observations made in life.  These stories have the ability to lure the listener into his world and give them the chance to feel what he has felt, to see what he has seen.

In addition to his songs, Venturella's albums each tell a story as well.  For instance, Linear Cycle of the Seasons is his 2004 album.  The entire CD goes through each of the seasons and each song is representative to a time of year.  The entire album works together and flows as one long story.  Nick's new album which gets released on August 15th, Sweet Sonic, also tells a story.  In order to find out what storyteller, Nick Venturella is weaving in Sweet Sonic, you'll need to buy the album!

Nick will be performing at the Contessa Says showcase at The Brink on Friday, July 21st.  Enjoy cocktail hour from 5pm-7pm with acoustic performance by Nick Venturella and the wonderful art of Andy Kuruzar!  The Brink is located at 701 E. Washington in the same complex as High Noon Saloon and The Brass Ring.
